CASA BOVER
Casa Bover was built in the last third of the 19th century, coinciding with the enlargement of the city after the collapse of the old medieval wall. It is one of the most stately houses in the area.
A FAMILY OF DOCTORS…
It belonged to the Bover family, specifically to Juan Bautista Bover Dalmau, patriarch of a family saga of doctors and soldiers related to the Catalá, Cholbi, Cruañes and Dotres families. Juan Bautista Bover Dalmau was a doctor and executor of the famous Cholbi brothers, founders of the Asilo-Hospital de la Villa. The last inhabitants of the house were the offspring of the lieutenant colonel of the Marine Infantry, Francisco de Paula Bover Dotres and Concha Cruañes Ferrando. In the 1970s, the family sold the property and it was acquired by a famous furniture and lamp company in the municipality.
AVENUE DES BOURGEOIS
The house occupies a prominent place in the bourgeois avenue par excellence. Next to it on the left side, we find the site of the old Espinós Cinema from the 50's and the Casino from the 20's. Currently a street is designed that would communicate with Calle Mestre Ángel Ribes, which may seem a handicap for the building, but it is quite the opposite, as for this reason, although the project of the street takes a bit of the garden, windows could be opened on the west façade. Due to its location and characteristics, it is the perfect place to install a riad in the heart of Jávea. It would be the first in the area. Its back patio is small at present and would be sufficient, as there are two parts built in the 60's, which surround it, what would be old corrals and stables, which could be gained for the patio. It contains centenary palm trees that would help to create the perfect atmosphere for an oriental Mediterranean garden... The number of rooms and halls on each floor means that this village house can accommodate several restaurants serving exotic food and a spa on the ground floor, in addition to the luxury rooms, typical of a Moroccan riad.
A RIAD IN JAVEA..
The Riad del Raval de la Mar would be the first in the Marina Alta. It would endow the Avenida de Alicante with a paradisiacal and luxurious place, giving back the air lost for decades to this street lined on the left and right, with marvellous façades facing the old town...
