CASA BOVER
Casa Bover was built in the last third of the 19th century, coinciding with the enlargement of the city after the collapse of the old medieval wall. It is one of the most stately houses in the area.
A FAMILY OF DOCTORS…
It belonged to the Bover family, specifically to Juan Bautista Bover Dalmau, patriarch of a family saga of doctors and soldiers related to the Catalá, Cholbi, Cruañes and Dotres families. Juan Bautista Bover Dalmau was a doctor and executor of the famous Cholbi brothers, founders of the Asilo-Hospital de la Villa. The last inhabitants of the house were the offspring of the lieutenant colonel of the Marine Infantry, Francisco de Paula Bover Dotres and Concha Cruañes Ferrando. In the 1970s, the family sold the property and it was acquired by a famous furniture and lamp company in the municipality.
